DFA WINS TOP IVCA AWARD
Award-winning communications company, DFA Productions, has proved that the internal conferences and roadshows it produces can have a significant effect upon the prosperity of its client companies.

"Conferences demand a substantial commitment in terms of management time and cash" said Damon Fowler, managing director of the company, "so we undertake to deliver measurable positive results to our clients."

DFA's two-year planned programme of internal communications for global electrical company, Hagemeyer, resulted in a turnaround for their UK business arm, Newey & Eyre. Declining turnover was halted by the renewed commitment and motivation of the company's employees which more than 20 roadshows and conferences helped to generate.

The case study of Netherlands-based Hagemeyer has earned DFA Productions a prestigious award from industry body, the International Visual Communications Association, in the LiveCom awards launched this year to recognise the finest examples of international trade by the industry. DFA took top place in the Internal Experience category. The awards are supported by government organisation, UK Trade and Investment.

"DFA Productions played a significant role in helping our company to regain its position in the market after we experienced a downturn in trade as a result of changes to IT and logistics systems," said Hagemeyer's chief executive officer in the Uk, John Hogan.

"DFA's key strength is really understanding our business objectives, then devising a communications plan that really strikes home with its audience. The roadshows for staff were relevant and motivating and we can measure the results in our financial upturn."

Damon's is the only northern based company to pick up an award but he is optimistic that companies outside the M25 are beginning to get the recognition they deserve. "There is an unbelievable amount of talent in the north and it's great that clients are realising that they do not have to go to London agencies to get the best," he said.

DFA's headquarters are in the brewing town of Tadcaster between York and Leeds, from where Damon and his team of specialists create and implement conferences and roadshows for blue chip companies such as ITV, Homeserve, Autoglass , OSRAM and Farnell InOne.
